Sierra Leone is emerging painfully from a devasting ten-year civil war, and is facing an acutely critical shortage of all educational resources.
Knowledge Aid for Sierra Leone was founded to help tackle that shortage by introducing knowledge available on the Internet to Sierra Leonean colleges and secondary schools. It is now under the auspices of the Council for Education in the Commonwealth. Knowledge Aid works as a partnership between educators in Sierra Leone and their friends abroad (to begin with, at Corpus Christi College Oxford). It has great potential for improving education and assisting economic advance.
